Nonhomogeneous Subalgebras of Lie and Special Jordan Superalgebras

We consider polynomial identities satisfied by nonhomogeneous subalgebras of Lie and special Jordan superalgebras: we ignore the grading and regard the superalgebra as an ordinary algebra. The Lie case has been studied by Volichenko and Baranov: they found identities in degrees 3, 4 and 5 which imply all the identities in degrees ≤ 6. We simplify their identities in degree 5, and show that ther...

JORDAN BIMODULES OVER THE SUPERALGEBRAS P (n) AND Q(n)

We extend the Jacobson’s Coordinatization theorem to Jordan superalgebras. Using it we classify Jordan bimodules over superalgebras of types Q(n) and JP (n), n ≥ 3. Then we use the Tits-Kantor-Koecher construction and representation theory of Lie superalgebras to treat the remaining case Q(2).

The Supermagic Square in Characteristic 3 and Jordan Superalgebras

Recently, the classical Freudenthal Magic Square has been extended over fields of characteristic 3 with two more rows and columns filled with (mostly simple) Lie superalgebras specific of this characteristic. This Supermagic Square will be reviewed and some of the simple Lie superalgebras that appear will be shown to be isomorphic to the Tits-Kantor-Koecher Lie superalgebras of some Jordan supe...

Corneal Degenerations

Degenerations are defi ned as the gradual deterioration of a tissue or an organ that was previously normal with frequent loss of functional activity. Corneal degenerations are characterized by the deposition of material, thinning of tissue, and vascularization. Contrary to corneal dystrophies, they are not hereditary and could be unilateral. Moreover, because of the continuous exposure to envir...

Degenerations of Abelian Differentials

Consider degenerations of Abelian differentials with prescribed number and multiplicity of zeros and poles. Motivated by the theory of limit linear series, we define twisted canonical divisors on pointed nodal curves to study degenerate differentials, give dimension bounds for their moduli spaces, and establish smoothability criteria. As applications, we show that the spin parity of holomorphic...
